On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Governor Kay Ivey announced Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA) funding of over $45 million for 23 projects in Coastal Alabama. The Baldwin County Commission was awarded $2,530,000 in GOMESA funds for renovations and additional amenities to Perdido Bay Park which is located on County Rd 99 in Lillian overlooking Perdido Bay.

The City of Loxley celebrated the ribbon cutting of the new Loxley Transit Hub, officially marking the completion of the $1.9 million project. Located just west of Highway 59 on Municipal Park Drive, the hub features an entry plaza, pavilion with restrooms, ADA-accessible sidewalks, added parking, and improved signage connecting to Loxley Municipal Park.

The Baldwin County Commission and the Town of Magnolia Springs are excited to announce they have entered into an Intergovernmental Roadway Construction Agreement to construct approximately 2,600 feet of roadway and pedestrian improvements on County Road 49 from U.S. Route 98 to Magnolia River.

The Baldwin County Commission and the City of Foley are excited to announce they have entered into an Intergovernmental Roadway Construction Agreement to construct approximately 5,280 feet (1 mile) of new roadway and pedestrian improvements extending James Road from Brinks Willis Road southward to the Gulf Shores city limits.

The Baldwin County Commission has entered into a Subrecipient Agreement with the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program (MBNEP) and Dauphin Island Sea Lab to enhance Stream Gauge Monitoring in Baldwin County and to develop a Low Impact Development (LID) stormwater review tool. The agreement, effective May 20, 2025, through April 30, 2026, marks a continued investment in Baldwin County’s long-term water resource management strategy. This project has been funded through a financial partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s National Estuary Program.

During the May 20, 2025, Commission meeting, the Baldwin County Commission introduced a uniquely innovative locally funded County/Municipal Transportation Infrastructure Partnership Program coined “The 30 Cubed Program”. The 30 Cubed Program is the first locally funded County/Municipal transportation partnership program of this magnitude ever introduced in not only Baldwin County, but the State of Alabama. The 30 Cubed Program is possibly the only locally funded County/Municipal transportation partnership program of this magnitude in the nation.

The Baldwin County Commission and the City of Gulf Shores are excited to announce they have entered into an Intergovernmental Roadway Construction Agreement for intersection improvements on County Road 6 at State Route 59. The County Road 6 at State Route 59 Intersection Improvements will be the first project of the Baldwin County Commission’s 30 Cubed Program which is aimed at fostering collaboration with municipalities across the county to enhance the capacity and connectivity of our roadway system.

The Baldwin County Probate Office and Revenue Office located at the Baldwin County Central Annex (22251 Palmer Street, Robertsdale, AL 36567) will temporarily close beginning May 1, 2025, for approximately ten months. The closure is necessary to allow for extensive renovations aimed at upgrading the facility and enhancing services for Baldwin County residents.
